  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and managing social science projects.

  • Familiarity with federal regulations and policies related to environmental management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advisor and consultant to senior management on sociocultural regulations, policy, and research.
  • Maintain authoritative knowledge of BOEM regulations and relevant Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Prepare briefs and presentations for management as warranted.
  • Represent the Bureau on sociocultural issues internally and externally.
  • Review NEPA and CZMA documents for completeness and sociocultural analysis.
  • Coordinate and prepare sociocultural sections of major environmental documents.
  • Participate in the NEPA scoping and planning process, identifying data gaps and preparing impact definitions.
  • Develop study protocols to resolve identified problems and recommend studies for funding approval.
