About The Position

AM LLC is seeking a Social Scientist that will segment population, identify narratives, and group identity factors. An active TS/SCI or TS w/SCI eligibility clearance is required. This position is for a forthcoming contract and will be based at the Customer's location in Ft. Meade, MD.

Requirements

  • Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting U.S. military or intelligence community operations
  • Experience in social media analysis, digital marketing, or online influence campaig
  • Experience designing, implementing, and assessing influence or persuasion strategies
  • Familiarity with cognitive modeling, cultural analysis, and psychological profiling
  • Active TS/SCI or TS w/SCI Eligibility clearance is required.
  • Confident n supporting projects and people, and proactive in making independent decisions and taking appropriate action.
  • Strong written, analytical, presentation, and verbal communication skills, withthe ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, from assistants to senior executives.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot when faced with challenges.
  • Demonstrates growth from feedback and actively seeks ways to improve.
  • Able to liaise effectively with a small internal team and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OIE principles, MISO (Military Information Support Operations), PSYOP, and other influence activities.
  • Knowledge of influence and persuasion theories.

Responsibilities

  • Requests data, research and intelligence to define population segment, identify narrative
  • Analyzes population segment identifying decision making, cognitive vulnerabilities and/or triggers
  • Analyzes and documents audience segmentations demographics, psychographics and groups
  • Analyzes and documents target likely persuadable, supports, neutrals and opponents
  • Analyzes demographics; cultural identity groups; political factions; socioeconomic categoric; information ecosystem tribes; and trusted institutions / elites / influencers
  • Defines relevant population segments; breaking down “the population” into analytically meaningful segments
  • Validates which segments matter for each COA
  • Maps group Identities and social norms specifying ingroup/outgroup tensions relevant to the COA, in a Identity-Norm Matrix indicating each group's likely sensitivity to influence
  • Requests intelligence, analysis and data on Media consumption habits (Market Analyst; Social media tribes and echo chambers; Local rumor networks (Mission Intel Analyst) and Opinion leaders, brokers, and influencer (Intel Analyst) for each segment
  • Analyzes information ecosystem dynamics to determine how information moves through groups and who amplifies it
  • Recommends culturally safe theme; shared values; motivations/ fears and negative themes to avoid
  • Defines observable group behaviors that signal change (e.g., shifts in protest participation, rumor directionality, sentiment trends)
  • Documents and recommends population-level measures Behavioral indicators; Attitudinal proxies; Rumor velocity; Cohesion indicators
  • Submits Population Effects Wargame Summary for COA Comparison
