The Social Network and Science SETA provides scientific, technical, programmatic, and administrative support to the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Warfighter Performance Department (Code 34). This role supports ONR’s Science and Technology (S&T) objectives by enabling the planning, execution, oversight, and transition of social, behavioral, and information-related research efforts that enhance naval warfighter performance. The position requires deep understanding of the national security and international information environment and how social and behavioral science research contributes tools, technologies, and training to counter adversarial influence and information-based threats. The SETA operates as a trusted advisor to Program Officers and interfaces routinely with senior Navy and Marine Corps leadership, DoD stakeholders, government agencies, academia, industry, and international partners. Technical focus areas align with ONR research domains, including analytics, modeling and simulation, and local and regional social network dynamics. Relevant experiences may include prior military work in PAO/IO/MILDEC areas or understanding military operations generally. Candidates with Social Network Analysis knowledge and skills are highly desired.
