About The Position

The Social Media & Marketing Intern will support the Salem Community College’s digital marketing efforts by assisting with content creation, social media management, and campaign execution. This internship is designed as a learning-focused experience that provides hands-on exposure to real-world marketing while developing professional communication and creative skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university, majoring in Marketing, Communications, English, or Business Media
• Ability to work with a diverse student/staff population at various levels.
• Ability to exercise tact, patience, initiative, persistence, and good judgment.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, especially with students and staff.
• Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrate ability to be self-disciplined, professional, and motivated.
• Demonstrate a pleasant, outgoing personality, a stable and courteous disposition, and a record of dependability.
• Demonstrate the ability to concentrate in a busy environment with frequent interruptions to workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in creating and scheduling content for social media platforms
• Supporting content planning using a social media calendar
• Assisting with basic graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Supporting marketing campaigns, promotions, or events
• Performing other marketing-related tasks as assigned
