The New York Road Runners Internship program is a paid, 21-week experience in which interns have the opportunity to learn from the best in the non-profit business. Interns will work collaboratively with professionals in their field of study and will have opportunities to network across the organization. The program will include professional development events and a chance to make a direct impact on the communities in New York City by working select events. Interns will receive onboarding and training to learn about NYRR and gain the knowledge needed to best perform in their role. Internship dates will be Monday, June 15, 2026 to Friday, November 13, 2026. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who loves social media and has a firm understanding of both the art and the science underpinning what makes people like, comment, engage, but ultimately, build a positive digital relationship with New York Road Runners. The person we hire for this role will be a creative thinker with experience producing social media content across all major and emerging platforms and a curiosity and openness to understanding why some things work and others don’t. The person we hire for this role must also have strong smartphone photography and videography skills. These events often happen outside of business hours, so a willingness to be flexible with working on weekends and evenings is a must! (It’s important to note that any weekend work will count towards the 25 hour work week.) You don’t need to have run a marathon for this job, but it’s a big plus if you are a runner and have a good understanding of the running community, particularly in New York City, as that’s going to be your audience.
