About The Position
Redlands Charitable Resource Coalition (RCRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the local community through charitable initiatives, community partnerships, and programs that support individuals and families in need. Through projects such as community book sales, silent auctions, and volunteer initiatives, RCRC helps create meaningful connections and opportunities for community engagement. RCRC is seeking a motivated Social Media & Community Engagement Intern to help strengthen our online presence and connect with the local community. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in nonprofit marketing, communications, digital media, or community engagement. The intern will help curate engaging social media content, support volunteer communications, and promote community events while gaining hands-on experience managing nonprofit social media platforms.
Requirements
- Interest in social media marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or community engagement
- Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook platforms
- Creative, organized, and proactive
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Passion for supporting community initiatives
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of Canva, video editing, or social media analytics is a plus
Responsibilities
- Help manage and monitor RCRC social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram
- Assist with scheduled posts, stories, sharing, and community engagement
- Respond to comments and messages and help maintain a positive online presence
- Support the promotion of events
- Assist in developing short-form video content and engaging posts
- Collaborate with volunteers to post pre-designed materials
- Track basic engagement metrics and provide feedback on post performance
- Help identify opportunities to increase volunteer participation and community partnerships
- Assist with basic graphic design, photography, or short video editing when needed
