We are looking for a leader who has already scaled brands across multiple platforms, understands how to win in real time, and has the creative judgment to set trends instead of chasing them. You are equally a strategist, creative director, and operator. You obsess over details, move fast without being sloppy, and believe community management is not support work — it is the strategy. If you’ve never personally responded from a brand account, shipped content in the moment, or defended a creative POV with conviction and data, this role is not for you.

Requirements

  • 8+ years owning social strategy and execution at scale.
  • A proven track record of meaningful channel growth across multiple platforms (not just one).
  • Deep experience operating in real time — cultural moments, news cycles, launches, and community engagement.
  • Exceptional creative taste and the ability to defend creative decisions with clarity and confidence.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort tying social performance to business outcomes.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing social teams.
  • Fast, decisive, and comfortable being accountable in public.
  • Detail-obsessed, but not precious.
  • Calm under pressure and sharp in moments that matter.
  • Opinionated, curious, and always learning.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of multi-channel social growth with an explicit mandate to aggressively scale reach, engagement, and relevance (we are aiming for step-change, not incremental growth).
  • Build and execute an always-on, performance-driven social strategy that balances brand, culture, community, and business impact.
  • Translate company priorities into platform-native content, formats, and experiments — and pivot quickly based on signal, not ego.
  • Set the creative bar across all social channels with exceptional taste and cultural judgment.
  • Know what’s current — without defaulting to trend-chasing — and decide what to ignore, what to adapt, and what to originate.
  • Create original formats, moments, and behaviors that others follow, rather than reacting to what’s already saturated.
  • Be relentless about details: captions, tone, pacing, color, typography, visual systems, and consistency.
  • Ensure Function’s content is recognizable without a logo — distinct, intentional, and unmistakably on brand.
  • Stay fluent in platform updates, new features, algorithm shifts, and emerging behaviors — and act on them early.
  • Champion community management as the foundation of social success.
  • Personally model best-in-class real-time engagement — on brand, fast, human, and culturally aware.
  • Build and scale teams, processes, and response frameworks that enable high-quality interaction at speed. Walk the walk. Tweet the tweet.
  • Define the metrics that matter — and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Clearly communicate performance and insights to leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Educate internal teams on why social works, how it drives impact, and what winning looks like now.
  • Operate as a true strategic partner to marketing, brand, creative, partnerships, influencer/creator, events, product, and comms.
  • Influence how stories are told and launched — not just how they’re posted.
  • Maintain a clear point of view on where social media is going 1–5 years from now, and ensure Function is building toward that future — not reacting to the past.
