About The Position

The Social Media Coordinator position within Mizuho Americas' Corporate Communications & Marketing division is a pivotal role aimed at enhancing the firm's global social media presence and managing the employee social media advocacy platform. Reporting directly to the VP of Social Media, the coordinator will collaborate closely with various teams, including Branding/Creative Services, Media Relations, Digital Marketing, and Conferences & Events, as well as global counterparts in EMEA, APAC, and Japan. This role is designed for an individual who is not only passionate about social media but also possesses a high level of creativity and exceptional writing skills. The ideal candidate will be driven and adept at creating engaging social media content that aligns with business and brand-related goals while maintaining a keen attention to detail, especially in a regulated environment. In this role, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for managing Mizuho's social media profiles across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube. The coordinator will maintain an editorial calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting, incorporating relevant themes, marketing objectives, and events. Crafting engaging captions and posts tailored to each platform and audience demographic is essential, ensuring alignment with the brand's voice and messaging strategies. The coordinator will also analyze performance metrics, track KPIs, and report on industry activity through monthly reports, while coordinating with external agencies to launch and monitor paid social campaigns. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with global offices to ensure local events and initiatives are effectively represented on social media channels. They will become an expert on the Hearsay Social Media Advocacy Program, providing guidance to employees using the tool, and will monitor social conversations and reputation issues, escalating them as necessary. The role may also involve attending offsite events to capture Instagram-first video content and assisting with website management and other digital channels as needed. The coordinator will play a key role in educating colleagues on best practices for strengthening the brand's reputation through social media and will perform ongoing competitor audits for creative inspiration and strategy intelligence. Staying updated on social media news and trends to identify new opportunities for the brand is also a critical aspect of this position.
