In this position, students work alongside the Department Head and/or the Social Media Manager to create content for the College’s department accounts, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and manages the engagement across these platforms. Content creation includes written content as well as multimedia content (photographs, videography, graphics, etc.). To assist with creating departmental social media posts and managing social media platforms; to promote the department and assist at events such as Open House, Accepted Student Day, and Student Mixers.

  • Create engaging content that fosters school spirit and inclusivity and is in alignment with College brand standards (visual and editorial).
  • Research and present new social and digital media strategies to connect with current students and reach prospective students.
  • Actively promote and support Ringling College’s social media accounts by sharing, commenting, and otherwise engaging with content.
  • Developing and maintaining a social and digital media rollout schedule.
  • Publishing content on a weekly basis, actively promoting and supporting Ringling College’s Business of Art and Design Department by sharing, commenting, and engaging with content.
  • Perform various related responsibilities, including, but not limited to: photography, design, media production, copywriting, and developing new initiatives to build community within the program.
  • Must exercise good judgment in creating content and engaging with content online.
  • Ability to self-direct projects and manage time without direct instruction.
  • Must be organized, reliable, and able to follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks and proactively seek input throughout the process.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including a strong command of the English language.
  • Exhibits an eye for detail (including proofreading before submitting work for review).
  • Advanced graphic design and copywriting skills to create content for social media.
  • Must be proficient in Google Workspace, specifically for creating content calendars in Sheets.
  • Adheres to consistent file naming conventions, file setup, and asset organization/labeling.
  • Knowledgeable across all social media platforms and corresponding specs.
