About The Position

The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position responsible for providing marketing and communications support to all departments within Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ). This role involves managing the development, evaluation, and dissemination of media and communications, implementing marketing strategies, and enhancing access to digital information and resources. The position requires a passion for the mission of SOAZ and involves both in-office and remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social media management, video production, nonprofit, or related field, or three or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in social media, marketing, communications, or related field with demonstrated success in collaborative work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and customer service.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in Canva, Mailchimp, Brandfolder, and WordPress.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a multi-channel result-driven social media strategy that supports SOAZ's mission and initiatives.
  • Curate unique photo, video, and social media content that represents the SOAZ community.
  • Monitor social media channels, interact with users, and respond to inquiries and comments.
  • Create opportunities to amplify athlete voices and share community stories.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and distribution of digital assets.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to implement integrated marketing strategies.
  • Attend assigned events to provide on-site media coverage and capture content.
  • Oversee the production of all photo and video needs for events and campaigns.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media partners.
  • Facilitate the distribution of newsletters and manage mailing lists.
  • Track, analyze, and report measures of effectiveness to improve performance.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the SOAZ website.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain all video, photo, and communications equipment.
  • Attend relevant webinars and trainings and disseminate information to staff.
  • Assist in graphic design of printed materials and merchandise.
