About the position

Acts as central contact for assigned event business, creatively bringing together customer visions and budgets with property resources to exceed customer expectations and meet/exceed property goals. The role involves client consultation and event planning, creating and managing detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and ensuring smooth execution of events by coordinating with various teams and vendors. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining communication with clients throughout the event process.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with couples and clients to understand their event needs, offer creative suggestions, and determine setup requirements, equipment, and menu items.
  • Anticipate needs to ensure flawless event execution and actively seek opportunities to upsell and cross-sell services.
  • Conduct site inspections and presentations to highlight the property's wedding and social event offerings.
  • Create and manage detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each event, ensuring all client requests are captured.
  • Distribute all event details to the relevant operational teams to ensure smooth execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during the event to ensure seamless communication and rapid response.
  • Attend all weddings and social events to oversee execution and ensure client expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure cohesive event execution.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report to work as scheduled and on time.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques with strong skills and ability to negotiate and close sales.
  • Excellent creative skills to provide innovative set-ups, menus, and functions for groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to understand and participate in the monthly forecasting and annual budget process.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in hospitality management preferred.
  • Two years of experience planning weddings and social events, organizing and/or executing events with Convention services, Catering, and/or Banquets.
  • Experience with food and wine pairing desired.
  • Experience working in luxury or boutique hospitality environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications and ability to learn and use hotel systems.
