About The Position

The Tigua Social Dancer performs traditional Tigua Social Dances, provides museum tours, participates in arts and craft activities, and assists in maintaining the Cultural Center clean. Duties include but are not limited to: performs Tigua social dances at public events both at Tigua Indian Cultural Center and Museum and at off-site locations; creates arts and crafts for museum display and resale; provides museum tours; other position related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 14 years old and enrolled in school
• Enrolled member of Tigua Tribe
• Must be able to work weekends and accommodate flexible schedule
• Bilingual - English/Spanish
• Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug screen and criminal history background check
• Knowledge of Tigua social dances and dancer regalia
• knowledge of Native American history, culture, language, traditions, arts, crafts and traditions with a preference of Tigua cultural knowledge
• must be outgoing and have good communication skills
• knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
• ability to effectively speak and perform in individual and/or group setting
• must possess skills in public speaking
