We’re looking for a highly creative and strategic Social Media Content Strategist to lead and elevate IPSY’s presence on TikTok and emerging platforms. This role blends content creation, channel strategy, and trendspotting. You’ll concept, create, and direct social-first content that has a direct impact on our organic goals, acting as a channel owner and cross-functional partner while driving ongoing commerce initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Social Media and MUST BE based in the Los Angeles, CA area. (This is a hybrid role, blending onsite and remote work.)

  • Concept, capture, and edit social-first content including short-form original videos, trending formats and sounds, campaign storytelling, BTS, in-office footage, reactive, and event coverage.
  • Serve as an expert in the content and formats that drive engagement and deliver key KPIs.
  • Optimize content for use across different IPSY social channels.
  • Develop and manage creative briefs for campaign-specific social assets to be used across IPSY channels.
  • Own and execute IPSY’s TikTok and emerging platform strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, and traffic.
  • Act as a channel expert and develop platform-optimized content through original content creation, UGC briefs, and dedicated social shoots.
  • Maintain a sharp pulse on the evolving TikTok landscape, identifying high-impact trends and testing opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Creator Partnerships, Brand Ops, Creative, Production, Growth, Brand Partnerships, and Events teams to ensure objectives are met.
  • Manage social calendar; publish and maintain daily TikTok content with strong attention to brand voice and accuracy.
  • Identify cultural moments and trends that resonate with our community and brand.
  • Leverage trending topics and formats to identify reactive content opportunities.
  • Support campaign launches, creator partnerships, and live event coverage with relevant, engaging content.
  • Track, analyze, and report on KPIs including engagement, traffic, and content performance to uncover actionable insights.
  • Build weekly and monthly performance reports to guide optimization and highlight wins.
  • 4+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing within beauty, fashion, or lifestyle.
  • Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and short-form content trends.
  • Proven experience managing social channels, specifically TikTok, for a brand (in house).
  • Strong video editing and storytelling skills, with experience in CapCut, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
  • Comfortable both behind, and in front of, the camera when needed
  • Familiarity with analytic tools (such as Dash Social) and ability to interpret analytics and use insights to inform strategy.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Creative and Production teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
