About The Position

Founded in 2005, Soccer Shots is an engaging children's soccer program focused on character development for children ages 2 through 8 years old. The local Lancaster & Lebanon (SSLL) franchise has been operating since 2005, serving approximately 65 public, childcare, and school locations in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties from its office at 509 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, Pa. This internship offers exposure to an elite franchise system and the inner workings of a successful small business. Interns will serve as coaches and gain knowledge in planning, scheduling, sales/marketing, customer service, and management. The internship also provides opportunities for professional development and may qualify for academic credit through the intern's educational institution. The internship will span a minimum of 120 hours over an 11- to 13-week period from August through November 2026, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Interns will initially focus on preparing for the season, including promotions, demos, and enrollment, with approximately 50% coaching load, which will shift to up to 70% coaching once the season begins.

Requirements

  • Handle and present themselves in a professional manner
  • Consistently arrive on time to assigned office hours, coaching sessions, and events
  • Be safety-conscious, prioritizing the safety of children under their care
  • Be caring, engaging with each child through specific and positive affirmation
  • Be organized, planning ahead and conducting each session according to the provided curriculum
  • Be responsible, committing to doing what is expected of them as an outstanding coach and "face" of Soccer Shots
  • Be energetic, bringing Soccer Shots to life by creating a fun and positive atmosphere
  • Commit to some if not all Saturday morning sessions that run no later than 1:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Soccer Shots coach
  • Assist in the overall execution of a Soccer Shots season
  • Gain knowledge in the planning, scheduling, sales/marketing, customer service, and management side of the business
  • Create, print, and distribute registration forms and promotional materials
  • Prepare and keep a record of equipment sets and gear for instructors
  • Assist in preparing prizes and distributing
  • Prepare marketing documents
  • Run demos and attend promo events
  • Correspond with external audiences, including Center Directors and parents
  • Participate in social media content creation and communication
  • Attend Operator Training with new nationwide franchise owners and staff members (if available)
  • Attend team and staff meetings
  • Participate in GiANT Worldwide Training
  • Work closely with SSLL Leadership Team members to prepare for the upcoming season, including promotions, running demos, and building enrollment
  • Execute the program by coaching sessions
