About The Position

This job has preference to qualified local job seekers within 60 miles of Axis Longview, TX facility. The Snubbing Operator safely coordinates and oversees snubbing units at the well sites. This individual will have an active state-issued Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement. The Operator will be responsible for directing crew members while rigging up and rigging down of snubbing unit, maintenance of snubbing unit, clean up/repair of support equipment, and the preparation of equipment for the next job. Operators will provide mentorship to snubbing assistants and other members of the snubbing crew. The Snubbing Operator will have working knowledge of snubbing unit operations and will help maintain customer satisfaction and ensure quality service to customer while on location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for ensuring hydraulic hoses, equipment startup, engaging of prime mover and hydraulic pumps are connected and operating correctly Has demonstrated knowledge of the function and location of all snubbing unit operating controls Responsible for assigned snubbing functions to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards. Follows proper rig-up and rig-down procedures Maintain all required log books and inspection reports Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, and fuel and service units Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements Report all operational deficiencies to supervisor and maintenance personnel Proficiently perform equipment inspection and maintenance as requested and complete paperwork Monitor well control parameters and calculations before and during job applications Maintains general housekeeping, clean up, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures Practice safe driving procedures when travelling to and from locations Communicates and interprets work instructions Uses safe practices during operations, supports all safe acts and has stop work authority May be required to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Must have valid, active state-issued driver license; Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement is preferred and a plus
  • Minimum of two (2) years snubbing experience and/or workover rig experience; prior work experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance a plus
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendors and other employees
  • Mobility, including entering confined spaces, enter areas by the use of ladders or other access devices up to 15 ft.; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Work is performed in all weather conditions
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English
  • Ability to interact with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
  • Basic writing, math, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule and travel as job requires
