About The Position

The Snowmaking Supervisor will report to the Snowmaking and Snow Surfaces Managers and will oversee all aspects of snowmaking at Killington and Pico, including all snowmaking personnel. The Snowmaking Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all goals of the snowmaking plan are being met by means of effective and efficient communication between snowmaking management and snowmaking employees.

Requirements

  • Broad base of snowmaking experience, 7+ years preferred
  • Previous supervisory or management experience, 3+ years preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work nights/days, 12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Budget management experience and good math skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, etc.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of company personnel
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to the requirements of the resort as needed
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, and the like

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all year-round snowmaking, in conjunction with the Snowmaking Manager
  • Act in place of the Snowmaking Manager when required
  • Plan department work schedules in conjunction with the Snowmaking Manager
  • Maintain a safe and respectful working environment
  • Assist in the proper recruitment, hiring, and training of employees
  • Conduct end of season/year performance evaluations of all snowmaking personnel
  • Plan, conduct, and file weekly staff safety meetings
  • Ensure all company safety training and policy reviews are completed by all staff
  • Confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities, check work, and resolve problems
  • Assist in planning the snowmaking operating budget and capital construction budgets
  • Review shift operations and performance
  • Check past, current, and future snowmaking trails to ensure goals are met and equipment is distributed properly
  • Check equipment and buildings to ensure all are in compliance with company safety standards
  • Attend management staff meetings and trainings
  • Deal regularly with various outside vendors and contractors to stay on top of industry trends
  • Prepare various administrative/operations reports and records
  • Oversee and maintain inventory of all snowmaking supplies and materials
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of all equipment
  • Provide superior service to our customers, internal and external, at all times
  • Interact with resort guests in a courteous, efficient, and informative manner
  • Job share as needed to support other departments
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
