About The Position

Assistant Snowmaking Manager is responsible for assisting the Snowmaking Manager in the day-to-day operations of the department. These responsibilities include hiring and training staff, planning, and implementing operational logistics, operation and troubleshooting of snowmaking equipment, management of crews to meet production goals and assessing trails throughout the snowmaking process. Summer responsibilities include system maintenance and work on capital improvement projects. We are looking for someone who possess a positive attitude, good leadership ability and attention to detail. We are also looking for experienced snowmakers for other leadership roles on our crew.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of snowmaking experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in mountain operations
  • Expert skier
  • Experience with a variety of snowmaking equipment, including A/W ground guns
  • Experience with snowmaking pumps and compressors
  • A valid Driver’s License the ability to pass background & MVR checks that meet company standards
  • Ability to work outside in a mountain environment during harsh conditions
  • Ability to walk through deep snow while carrying heavy equipment and tools (50+ pounds)
  • Ability to move large volumes of snow with a shovel
  • Must have a willingness to work 12-hour shifts, day or night

Nice To Haves

  • Snowcat experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with summer snowmaking maintenance and installation preferred

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
