About The Position

Sandia Peak Ski Area is dedicated to delivering an exceptional mountain experience for all of our guests. Our grooming team plays a critical role in creating the smooth, safe, and enjoyable terrain that skiers and riders love. We're looking for a skilled, reliable Snowcat Groomer to join our mountain operations crew. As a Snowcat Groomer, you'll operate specialized grooming equipment to maintain and enhance the quality of our ski slopes, terrain parks, and trails. You'll work independently during nighttime or early-morning hours, in all weather conditions, to ensure the mountain is ready for the next day's guests.

Requirements

Previous snowcat or heavy equipment operation experience preferred (training available for the right candidate)
Strong situational awareness and ability to operate machinery safely and responsibly
Comfort working independently and in low-visibility, winter mountain conditions
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic equipment upkeep
Ability to work overnight, early morning, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

Operate snowcats and related grooming equipment to maintain ski runs, beginner areas, terrain parks, and access routes
Monitor snow conditions and adjust grooming techniques to ensure optimal surface quality
Build and maintain terrain park features (if applicable)
Perform basic mechanical checks and light maintenance on grooming machines
Communicate with the grooming supervisor and team regarding nightly priorities and conditions
Work safely in challenging mountain environments and adhere to all operational policies
