Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience operating heavy machinery and snow removal equipment is preferred.
  • Must provide own transportation to work for assigned snow route.
  • On-call availability to respond to snowstorms from November to March and willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license (required for drivers only).
  • May require a CDL depending on the specific role and equipment operated.
  • Exposure to cold temperatures, snow, ice, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and other equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, highways, parking lots, sidewalks, and other commercial/residential designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of work hours, equipment usage, and incident reports.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate safety and cold weather gear.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient snow removal.
  • Safely operate heavy machinery, including trucks, loaders, and other snow removal equipment like skid steers and backhoes.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, work in cold weather conditions, and operate equipment for extended periods.
