About The Position

The City of Syracuse is seeking part-time Snow Plow Drivers to operate various types of motor equipment for snow removal and street cleaning. This role involves skilled operation of vehicles, routine maintenance, and physical labor, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of materials during winter conditions.

Requirements

• Possession of a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of dump trucks and flatbed trucks.
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and make emergency repairs.
• Physical strength and agility to operate equipment over rough terrain.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with snow plowing and snow-fighting equipment.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and safety precautions for motor equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and street sweepers for snow removal and street cleaning.
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on vehicles.
• Assist in the transportation of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Set flags and barricades as needed during operations.
• Instruct and train personnel in the use of motor equipment as directed by the supervisor.
