Snack Shack Cashier/Beer Server
About The Position
The Snack Shack Cashier is the front-line ambassador for Nordic Valley's food service, providing fast, friendly, and accurate service to all guests. This role is responsible for processing guest orders, handling payments, and contributing to the preparation and service of prepackaged food and beverages. The ideal candidate is energetic, guest-focused, and works well in a fast-paced environment. This position is great for anyone who loves to ski/snowboard, as we have great perks for our employees to also enjoy our resort and sister resorts throughout the country. Requirements
- Previous experience in cash handling or guest service is preferred, but not required.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (especially during peak ski season).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperature conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry items (e.g., boxes of supplies) up to 25 lbs.
- A Tips and Sips or ServeSafe Utah certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in similar positions is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests warmly and provide a positive guest service experience.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle all payment transactions (cash, credit card, and other methods) efficiently and responsibly; balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Answer guest questions about menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens.
- Ensure the snack shack counter, condiment stations, and guest areas are clean, well-stocked, and organized at all times.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies and stock are running low.
- Follow all guidelines in the Nordic Valley Responsible Alcohol Service Plan.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning equipment and service areas.
- Assist with event functions as needed.
- Work well with team members, demonstrate good communication skills, and promote a positive work environment.
- Follow supervisors direction and perform other duties as assigned.
