About The Position

Acknowledge and respond to guests immediately in a friendly manner. Prepare drinks, serve guests and servers per request and creates a warm and fun atmosphere for both guests and team members. Make sure orders are taken and delivered in a timely manner. Check to make sure the kitchen receives your food order. Answers guest questions, if uncertain of answer will direct question to appropriate department. Conduct excellent telephone ethics with good verbal skills/communication/ interaction with guests. Gives a warm and pleasant farewell to guests and invites them to return. Enforce legal drinking requirements to assure guest safety and adherence to legal and casino policies and procedures. Responsible to request and verify acceptable identification to ensure legal drinking age. Analyze and observe guest behavior and uses judgment to determine if a guest should be served an alcohol beverage. Advise discontinued alcohol service to guests when guest behavior indicates cut-off is necessary. Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests. Ensures all alcoholic beverages are made in accordance with standard pours/recipes. Operates Point of Sale (cash register) system with knowledge and accuracy to ensure proper accounting and casino policies and procedures are followed. Operate Point of Sale (cash register) system to record transactions, collect payment (credit cards, cash, room charges, tokens, marketing coupons, etc.) and make change correctly for drinks and food directly served to guests. Ensure proper cash handling techniques and balancing of monies during and at end of shift. Ensures order receipt is received from server prior to preparing server beverages. Ensure all sales are entered at time of preparation/order. Maintain sanitized procedures according to I.H.S. (Indian Health Services) standards. Follows departmental sanitization procedures. Ex. Test strips, towels in sanitized water, ice scoops, etc. Maintain table and bar appearance by pre-busing, checking drink levels, changing ashtrays, removing clutter, and providing napkins. Ensures assigned area is stocked and cleaned throughout and at the end of shift. Proper rotation of product to avoid expiration and restock bar items in the absence of bar-runner. Report any unsafe working conditions to immediate Supervisor. Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum of two months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet the requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State compact for gaming.
  • Must be 18 years of age prior to employment to meet statue guidelines.
  • Must attend Alcohol Awareness and Guest Service training as required.
  • Knowledge and skill to use Point of Sale system.
  • Knowledge of promotional programs offered by the casino.
  • Knowledge of bar products, equipment, casino layout to direct guest.
  • Knowledge of locations of panic button (hold up alarm) fire extinguishers, fire exits and emergency procedures.
  • Knowledgeable skills in handling difficult and disgruntled guests.
  • Skill in basic math functions.
  • Skill of developing and maintaining positive relations with internal and external guests.
  • Ability to follow proper cash handling techniques.
  • Ability to mix drinks according to established procedures.
  • Ability to remain good rapport with guests.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to follow procedures and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand during the entire 6–8-hour shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to make repetitive hand motions.
  • Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
