About The Position

The SmithGroup Design a Better Future Scholarship is designed to support and mentor students in architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, and engineering (civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection). The program aims to provide students with the opportunity to achieve their professional goals while advancing the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry and improving the built environment. This scholarship includes a one-time award of $6,000 to offset tuition at their current academic institution (5 scholarships are awarded each year) and a paid summer internship at a SmithGroup office in the United States. Students who demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering inclusion within their university, community, and/or AEC industry are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate (at least a junior level standing) or graduate student in an accredited architecture, interior design, urban planning, landscape architecture, or engineering program in the United States.
• Enrolled student during the Fall 2026 semester as scholarships are paid directly to the academic institution.
• Available for a paid summer internship.
• Current GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
