About The Position

About the Role: SME Technical Lead reports to the Training Program Manager, acting as the Continuous Learning Program training owner within their unit of operation, managing the transfer of knowledge and best practices of their specialization through the training and skill development of trainers and trainees, communication and reporting of training metrics, and development of systems, standards, and training material. The SME: Functional Technical Lead also acts as the Subject Matter Expert within their unit of operation, utilizing their expertise to foster and promote continuous improvement and a positive work environment. The position is the first link in the help chain to resolve problems within the work area. Assumes the overall responsibility for training within their functional area to facilitate area training by working with team members, trainers, department leadership, and the Training Manager and works to prioritize and address needs as they relate to standard work practices, procedures for safety, quality, equipment operations, productivity, and efficiency. Coordinates with the Training Manager to identify operational and technical skill gaps and works with the Training Manager and Trainers to fill the gaps. Develop training plans for operational and technical skill development. Ensures trainers possess the skills to accurately complete all quality, traceability, and production paperwork, and these skills are transferred to trainees through quality training. Conducts regular check-ins with trainees and trainers to analyze the overall effectiveness of the training program in their area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prefer 12 months and up to and including 3 years of qualifying machine operator experience on related work or including lower-level jobs within or outside the company.
  • Prefer 6 months up to 1 year of employee on the job coaching/training experience.
