The Contractor shall provide a RF Engineer / In-Building Wireless Consultant with at least five years of experience working in operational public safety communications systems. The RF Engineering Consultant will be responsible for working with LMR radios, software, and programs. In addition, the RF Engineering Consultant will also be responsible for the design, testing, and implementation of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) that support FirstNet and P25 public safety radio communications. The RF Engineering Consultant will perform technical work in the field of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and wireless communications system engineering, design, testing, and implementation. The consultant will be responsible for program review, compliance with licensing regulations, requirements gathering, design review, change management, and final acceptance of wireless systems. Duties will include testing and acceptance of DAS systems, FCC licensing support, and radio system coverage testing to include antennas, link budget, and working with equipment vendors to implement feature upgrades. Furthermore, the consultant will conduct short and long-term planning to meet current and future communications requirements. The consultant will also be responsible for performing hardware / software analysis to provide comparative data of performance characteristics and suitability within the existing systems environment.
