About The Position

The SME Consultant (Data Center) position is an hourly contract role that is 100% remote. This position is not eligible for company benefits and requires some availability during business hours to attend scheduled Zoom meetings. The pay for this role ranges from $50 to $75 per hour (1099). Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) serve as advisors to Interplay, playing a key role in the company's growth by helping to build industry-leading training content aimed at advancing the facilities maintenance trade.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure
• Extensive knowledge of Data Center Safety and Operations
• Extensive knowledge of Data Center Maintenance
• Extensive knowledge of Operation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting of CRAC Units
• Teaching or training experience is preferred
• Organized and communicative with the team
• Desire and ability to collaborate with designers and developers and respond to queries and feedback within 1-2 business days
• Systematic approach to troubleshooting
• Research skills
• Computer skills - G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Writing skills for knowledge checks and procedure guides
• Availability during business hours to attend scheduled Zoom meetings

• Teaching, training or mentoring experience is ideal

Responsibilities

• Advise internal teams on industry dynamics and best practices
• Support content development for VR simulations and eLearning videos
• Advise on malfunctions for simulations
• Develop and assist in the creation of procedure guides
• Write and record voiceover scripts and screencasts for videos
• Generate valid and reliable test questions/knowledge checks
• Develop fault scenarios
• Review courses for accuracy
