The User Engagement Internship at Marston Science Library is designed for an undergraduate student to assess and improve online library research guides aimed at STEM materials. The intern will gather feedback from peers, analyze data, and present findings to enhance the usability and effectiveness of these resources for undergraduate students.

  • Review subject guides and compare them with those from other institutions.
  • Develop surveys to gather feedback from peers.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding the usability of STEM subject guides.
  • Create and present a report of findings and suggestions for improvement.
  • Meet weekly with supervisors to discuss progress and insights.
  • Present findings to Marston librarians at the end of the semester.
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student at UF in good academic standing.
  • Enrolled in a STEM or STEM Education degree program.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous library experience.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with library subject guides.
  • General knowledge of creating surveys and using survey tools, such as Qualtrics.
  • Hourly wage of $15/hour.
  • Flexible working hours up to 10 hours per week.
