Smart Home Security Technician -Level II
About The Position
AAA Smart Home is expanding its service team in the Cheyenne and Laramie County area. We are looking for technically minded professionals who take pride in providing safety and service to their neighbors. This position is responsible for the installation, service, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of systems for AAA Smart Home new and existing customer base. These services are critical for the ongoing customer experience and satisfaction of the account base. This position is customer facing and responsible for consistently providing a memorable customer experience.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Two or more years in a customer service industry role
- Strong customer service communication and conflict resolution skills
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must qualify for applicable licenses / certificates
- Ability to perform Qolsys installs including life safety devices and smart home components
- Ability to perform ‘takeover’ of 2GIG, Vista, GE systems
- The ability to use hand tools, laptop, and tablet are required.
- Previous low voltage license/certification required
- Driver’s license - Ability to drive and maintain company vehicle
Nice To Haves
- Some sales experience is desired
- Some knowledge of low voltage systems desired
- Basic knowledge of wireless communication and troubleshooting desired
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic evaluation of system issues and perform troubleshooting and repairs on low voltage security and home automation systems including cameras, thermostats, locks and more.
- Install or upgrade new low voltage security and home automation systems inclusive of cameras, thermostats, door locks and more.
- Identify and convert compatible existing equipment to work with the Smart Home system.
- Educate and inform Smart Home members about products, services, and offers.
- Teach members about their recently installed/serviced equipment to ensure they can utilize it effectively.
- Make decisions regarding evaluating member security needs and offering them additional products and services to ensure that our members have the best coverage and security options available to them in order to fit their needs.
- Ensure that all administrative functions such as inventory, job notations, quality assurance, time keeping, and other functions are kept up to date.
- Communicate quickly and effectively with the leadership team when issues arise or help is needed.
