About The Position

We are recruiting for multiple roles across the UK in 2025 for the position of Smart Energy Engineer at OVO. This role involves working at customers' homes to deliver a service that contributes to our mission of driving progress towards net zero carbon living. As a Smart Energy Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out smart metering installations and maintenance, providing excellent customer service, and promoting energy efficiency. You will report directly to the Smart Team Manager and work full-time, with some travel required for training and customer support.

Requirements

• Fully Qualified Smart Energy Engineer with CCN1/CMA1 & MET1 or Level 2 Smart Meter Diploma.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Smart Energy Engineer or Dual Fuel Meter installer.
• Current full manual driving license (with up to 6 points) valid in the UK.
• Strong desire to learn and develop, with creative thinking and adaptability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with RTS/MRMM/THTC systems.
• Familiarity with Safety Culture, Bybox, Zeno, and smartphone/handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and act as a brand ambassador for OVO.
• Engage with customers on the benefits of smart meters and how to monitor and reduce their energy consumption.
• Ensure the right materials are stocked in your van and maintain proactive communication with customers before visits.
• Adapt working methods to install smart metering systems in various customer environments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take appropriate actions to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with peers and colleagues to meet customer needs.
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety for yourself and customers.
• Use tools, equipment, and PPE safely and appropriately.
