About you and this role: In this role, you will represent Dow's Energy Business as a Manufacturing Representative and an integral part of the state-of-the-art SMR Project. As part of the team, you will coordinate between various 3rd parties and Dow to ensure we design and construct new steam generation and steam distribution assets that are operational safe, reliable, efficient, and meet Dow's environmental goals. The focus of this position will be on the modification of the existing facilities to enable connection of the steam/water systems between these production facilities and the SMR plant. In addition, you will identify and coordinate knowledge of the manufacturing process technology in project design, construction, commissioning, and operation between all parties. You will be responsible to the Technology Center for the final technology and design implemented.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, or related).
  • Working knowledge of steam and water distribution assets.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 25-50% of the duration of the project and meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries world wide.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the best technology is implemented in the definition and design stages of the project by integrating input from Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability experts, along with appropriate MET (Most Effective Technology) from the Technology Center.
  • Carries most of the project accountability for the technical integrity and operability of the final facility.
  • Provides the key interface between other disciplines and functions per Global Project Methodology. This means effectively interfacing between the rest of the project team, plant operations, TES, and 3rd party design teams to ensure technical integrity and optimum operability are achieved.
  • Implements the Functional Input and Evaluation process.
  • Implements the Scope and Criteria Management.
  • Using input from Operations and the Technology Center, ensures the safe and effective commissioning, start-up, and then transfer of the assets to Operations.
  • Identifies the required training to safely operate and maintain the assets and then ensures the required programs are developed and delivered to the staff.
  • Responsible for any new and/or updated Operating Discipline.
  • Ensures the proper transfer of project related documentation to the plant and to the Technology Center.
