About The Position

The Small Mammal Ecology Lead Field Technician will conduct field surveys for small mammals (rodents and shrews) on forest service land within New Hampshire. The individual in this position must have experience live trapping small mammals. The individual in this position will be responsible for training and supervising additional crew members. The individual in this position must be prepared to navigate/hike off trail in mountainous terrain and carry 30lbs of gear up and downhill. The individual in this position will work under challenging environmental conditions, which include exposure to elements such as rain or heat, and the presence of wildlife and insects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources or relevant field
  • Experience live trapping small mammals
  • Be prepared to navigate/hike off trail in mountainous terrain and carry 30lbs of gear up and downhill
  • Work under challenging environmental conditions, which include exposure to elements such as rain or heat, and the presence of wildlife and insects
