About The Position

The Small Groups Ministry Leader at Water of Life Community Church is a full-time, exempt position responsible for overseeing the health and growth of small groups within the church. This role involves connecting with small group leaders, managing communication platforms, implementing strategies from the Director, and providing direct support to ensure effective ministry operations. The leader will also focus on volunteer development, program development, and maintaining a strong community connection through small groups.

Requirements

  • 2 years of ministry experience in an active lay leadership role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of office technology tools including web-based platforms, Facebook, Instagram, and MS Office.
  • Ability to recruit, lead, train, and supervise volunteers.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Aspire to be a Christian role model in accordance with 1 Timothy, chapter 3.
  • Maintain a consistent relationship with God and live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ.
  • Be personally committed to the ideals, values, and mission of Water of Life.
  • Ability to resolve issues according to Matthew 18.
  • Become a Member at Water of Life and regularly attend its weekend services.
  • Satisfactory background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Biblical Studies or equivalent, or graduate of School of Ministry at Water of Life.

Responsibilities

  • Connect regularly with small group leaders and manage communication platforms.
  • Implement group strategies passed down from the Director.
  • Serve as the primary point person for the health and growth of small groups.
  • Meet regularly with Community Leads for relationship building and ministry development.
  • Recruit, train, and support small group leaders and community leads.
  • Coordinate regular training for new small group leaders and community leads.
  • Provide ongoing resources, encouragement, and check-ins for leaders.
  • Visit groups as needed to build relationships with leaders.
  • Participate in planning, development, and execution of small group campaigns/strategies.
  • Evaluate the health and success of current small groups and deliver feedback to supervisor.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for ministry growth based on feedback.
  • Promote small groups as a key avenue for connection, discipleship, and service.
  • Utilize tools like Planning Center to manage groups and track participation.
  • Lead and manage functions of a single ministry team and monitor ministry budget.
  • Cascading communication to next levels in the ministry.
  • Participate in church events and perform other duties as assigned.
