About The Position

Position Criteria: Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Performance Criteria: Assist head coach with the recruitment, auditioning, and rostering of student participants into speech team categories Assist head coach with mentoring and supervising student Team Leads assigned to category Obtain, plan, and prepare performance materials as assigned by head coach; obtain performance rights as necessary Conduct rehearsals and work with students in conceptualizing the material, developing vocal and physical delivery, blocking, and other technical and artistic areas of presentation Coordinate necessary technical needs which may include set, props, and costumes Support performers at contests Document student concerns and behavior; consult with head coach Communicate schedule and rehearsal information with parents and guardians Assist head coach with the execution of home-sponsored contests Enhance coaching development by attending summer workshops, fall conventions, spring meetings, and other enrichment opportunities which may include becoming a certified IHSSA judge Promote the program through district and public awareness Consult with parents, head coach, and/or administrators regarding discipline issues as needed Keep the head coach and district’s administration informed of matters deemed necessary
