About The Position

The role of a Small Format Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture across the store, retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies, and leading a team of hourly team members. No two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include responsibilities such as understanding sales goals, planning daily/weekly workload, demonstrating a service culture, managing incoming and outgoing products, and leading team members in your department.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Lead and hold others accountable.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail operations.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals, plan daily/weekly workload with guidance from leader, and execute the same to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor.
  • Be an expert of operations, accuracy, process and efficiency.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing products, maintain stock levels, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs.
  • Help lead team members in your department(s) in the backroom and sales floor areas.
  • Enable efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Participate in team onboarding and learning.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up and Drive up.
  • Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests.
