About The Position

As a Small Format Team Leader at Target, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a consistent experience for our guests by managing product availability, pricing accuracy, and overall store operations. This position involves leading a team of hourly team members, providing exceptional guest service, and executing daily and weekly workload plans to meet sales goals. You will be responsible for various tasks including cashiering, stocking, and maintaining the sales floor, while also developing your leadership skills through training and experience.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and plan daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team members to deliver service standards.
  • Ensure product is in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing products, maintain stock levels, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs.
  • Lead team members in the backroom and sales floor areas.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Participate in team onboarding and learning.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
  • Lead and model a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up.
