About The Position

The role of a Small Format Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture across the store. You’ll provide exceptional guest service, customizing each experience and anticipating guest needs. As a Small Format Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include responsibilities such as understanding sales goals, planning daily/weekly workload, and executing to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement. You will also lead a team of hourly team members, ensuring a consistent experience for our guests by managing product availability and accuracy on the sales floor.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail management.
  • Skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent.
  • Experience in managing workload and prioritizing tasks independently.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and plan daily/weekly workload with guidance from leader.
  • Execute plans to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team members’ expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Ensure product is in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing products, maintain stock levels, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
