About The Position

The Small Equipment Technician position at Henry Schein, Inc. involves performing basic service and repairs on a limited portfolio of handpieces and/or small equipment. This includes diagnosis, failure analysis using appropriate test equipment and tooling, documentation of device evaluation, service recommendations, parts required, and preventative maintenance feedback on service work orders. The technician will also repair and perform quality testing of products to established specifications and may provide technical support for a limited range of products. Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Basic electrical / mechanical skills desired
  • Basic math and logic skills required
  • Basic computer skills and software use desired
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Upholds company policies and standards
  • 0- 6 months professional work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in relevant mechanical trades preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to learn repair of more advanced products

Responsibilities

  • Performing basic service and repairs on a limited portfolio of handpieces and/or small equipment as assigned by Supervisor
  • Performs diagnosis and failure analysis using appropriate test equipment and tooling
  • Documents device evaluation, service recommendations, parts required and preventative maintenance feedback on service work orders
  • Repairs and performs quality testing of products to established specifications as required
  • May provide technical support on a limited portfolio of products as required
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by lead or management
