About The Position

Miner’s Ace Hardware is hiring a Small Engine Repair Mechanic to service and repair outdoor power equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other 2-cycle/4-cycle machines. Stihl experience or certification is a plus. Diagnosis and Repair: Evaluating and repairing small engines, outdoor power equipment (such as chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers), and handheld electrical devices. Customer Service: Writing customer contracts and invoices for rentals and repairs, and providing repair estimates and recommendations. Maintenance: Performing preventative maintenance, tune-ups, and day-to-day operation and maintenance of the equipment in the tool rental fleet. Inventory Management: Maintaining tool inventory and ensuring all units are repaired, tested, and cleaned before being returned to the rental fleet. Safety and Compliance: Following all safety guidelines, maintaining a clean work area, and potentially operating equipment like forklifts (with proper training). Miner's Ace Hardware is a Family-Owned Business operating 9 retail hardware stores on California's beautiful Central Coast. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in small engine repair is generally required, with STIHL certification often preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read technical manuals are necessary.
  • The role may require the ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 100 lbs) and perform physical tasks like standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Responsibilities
