Your best fit for this position, the ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engine equipment, including concrete finishing and carpentry tools. This position ensures that all machinery as power trowels and concrete vibrators to generators, light towers, and compact equipment like skid steers and mini excavators, operates safely and efficiently. This role may also involve assisting with equipment delivery and pickup as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in small engine repair and maintenance, preferably in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of small engine systems (gas and diesel) and power equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and company standard
  • Problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines, power tools, and construction-related machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as concrete trowels, saws, compactors, light towers, generators, pressure washers, and small excavators.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on small equipment.
  • Maintain organized service records and update maintenance logs.
  • Assist with order replacement parts and ensure proper inventory management of shop supplies.
  • Ensure that all repairs meet manufacturer and company safety standards.
  • Perform on-site repairs or equipment delivery when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, following Wheeler's safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Equipment Manager to prioritize and schedule repair needs.
  • Assist in training junior mechanics or helpers when assigned.
  • Cleans and apply lubricants to machinery components.
