Small Engine Mechanic (Part-Time)
About The Position
Chris Andersen Roofing, a Tecta America Company, has served New Jersey’s commercial and industrial roofing market since 1906. Known for quality workmanship and customer service, they specialize in roof replacement, restoration, repair, and maintenance. Their highly trained team ensures water-tight, long-lasting roofing solutions backed by a solid guarantee. We are currently seeking a part-time Small Engine Mechanic for our Hopelawn, NJ shop. The Small Engine Mechanic will inspect, service, and repair small engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing parts, and performing routine maintenance. The position will work approximately 20 hours per week. Pay Range - $18 to $23 per hour based on prior experience.
Requirements
- Experience with small engine repairs.
- Experience working in a shop environment.
- Some experience working with Honda, Briggs & Stratton, and Kohler engines.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Active US Driver’s License with a clean record preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in small engines and related equipment.
- Order and inventory parts and supplies as needed.
- Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized.
- Stay current with new engine models and repair techniques.
