About The Position

The Ascendancy Group is seeking a seasoned Maritime Training & Curriculum Specialist to support advanced instruction and curriculum development for Navy Special Warfare operations at The Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS). This role plays a critical part in shaping high-risk, live-fire training programs and ensuring operational readiness through expert-level instruction and logistical coordination. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical environments involving SOF maritime systems
  • At least 5 years as a certified Navy Instructor (NEC 9502) and Master Training Specialist (MTS) or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in curriculum development and instruction across multiple technical disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in maritime logistics and equipment maintenance
  • Prior experience in Riverine or Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman (SWCC) operations
  • Active Secret clearance verified through JPAS
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Mississippi Statewide Security Guard Gun permit
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Familiarity with key Naval Instructions including: o OPNAVINST 5100.19 (Safety for Forces Afloat) o OPNAVINST 3500.39 (Operational Risk Management) o OPNAVINST 4790.4 (Maintenance and Material Management) o OPNAVINST 5530.13C (Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Security)
  • Eligible to qualify as a High-Risk Instructor under OPNAVINST 1500.75 guidelines
  • Able to access military installations and operate in high-security environments
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Physically fit and capable of working in fast-paced, high-demand settings
  • Flexible schedule availability to meet training demands
  • Willingness to cross-train and support other contracted roles as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and IBM-compatible systems
  • Able to draft military correspondence when required

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training analysis and instructional support for operational and logistical missions within Navy Special Warfare Command
  • Develop and manage curriculum and assessment materials, including test questions and training aids
  • Apply effective classroom and hands-on teaching techniques, including on-the-water instruction
  • Monitor student progress and manage course delivery and performance metrics
  • Provide instruction in Navigation, Field Communications, Weapons Systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems maintenance
  • Support logistics and maintenance operations for maritime systems and watercraft
  • Collaborate on course design and curriculum management for SOF-unique watercraft systems
