Unum is seeking a dynamic and strategic Small Business Sales Director to lead the development, optimization, and execution of sales processes designed to elevate performance across our Small Business Consultant (SBC) organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years of sales performance management experience.
  • Proven success in sales generation, sales leadership, or sales process management.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop SBCs using proven methods that strengthen capability, accelerate performance, and support long-term success. term success.
  • Support deal strategy, including relationship management, negotiations, and closing.

  • Partner closely with Field Office leadership to optimize territory sales results, support recruiting strategies, and contribute to career development pathways for SBCs.
  • Lead recruiting and hiring of SBCs in collaboration with field leadership.
  • Oversee work planning, prioritization, and performance management, focusing on maximizing opportunities and improving close ratios.
  • Proactively address risks, communication gaps, or service concerns, and ensure effective resolution.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the SBC operating model to increase efficiency and overall effectiveness.
