Our team is growing: Provide’s Loan Operations team is looking for a bold, compassionate, and focused Small Business Loan Operations Team Lead to manage and mentor a team of Small Business Funding Operations Specialists and ensure that the department follows its determined workflow and meets service level agreements. In this role, you will focus on ensuring that productivity levels are met, confirming compliance and other quality key performance indicators (KPIs) meet all defined standards, and determining and managing team goals to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. As a Provide and Fifth Third Bank team member, you will be responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. You will be accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensuring that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the risk appetites of Provide and Fifth Third Bank, you will be expected to achieve results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least five years of experience in commercial lending, specifically in a loan operations, loan review, fulfillment, funding coordinator, audit, or collateral-related role at a bank or lending company
  • Deep understanding of deal structuring and collateral concepts (you love talking UCC-1s, UCC-3s, PMSIs, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills
  • Strong PC (Microsoft Office) and Mac skills
  • Attention to detail, trusted reliability, and strong work ethic and drive
  • Successful history of leading, developing, and mentoring teams
  • Excellent leadership, customer relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate a team, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
  • Strong planning and organization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas, data modeling, and pivot tables
  • Expertise in Tableau to visualize KPIs and generate actionable reporting insights
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Review loan files in depth prior to funding to ensure file completeness, perfected collateral, and full structural alignment with the credit memo
  • Perform detailed analysis of purchase-and-sale or asset sale agreements to confirm free-and-clear asset transfer
  • Review practice location leases and insurance policies
  • Validate liquidity and retirement requirements
  • Audit draft and executed legal loan documents
  • Review UCC lien, public records, and other searches
  • Liaise daily with both closing officers and underwriters to drive maximum efficiency and loan accuracy
  • Collaborate with team members and manager on improving and updating procedures and training materials for Operations team
  • Mentor other members of the team to help them develop and improve on loan risk management skills and knowledge
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for process improvements and software development
  • Determine success rate of meeting certain benchmarks, and update required department performance reports
  • Monitor compliance issues, including that all department members attend required meetings and that staff complies with state and federal regulations.
  • Drive team quality, accuracy, and efficiency through coaching and mentorship; review loan files to ensure strong production, pull-through, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Drive a consistently high standard of service for internal and external customers, continuously identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • As a supervisor, provide employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; develop the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognize and rewarding employees for accomplishments
