About the position

The Small Business Banking Credit Manager at Zions Bancorporation plays a crucial role in managing SBA underwriting groups and ensuring credit quality within the division. This position is responsible for implementing credit policies, overseeing underwriting production, and supporting performance targets while providing exceptional customer service. The role also involves mentoring staff, resolving credit-related issues, and contributing to the strategic direction of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SBA underwriting groups and oversee credit quality for the division.
  • Implement approved credit policies and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Oversee underwriting production and quality while maintaining cost-efficient processes.
  • Support the achievement of performance and budget targets.
  • Coach staff to ensure superior customer service and timely application processing.
  • Handle and resolve credit-related issues and complaints.
  • Set strategic direction and advocate for resources to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Mentor and train employees in credit-related areas.
  • Conduct hiring, firing, and performance reviews of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in SBA lending, business banking, credit analysis, or related fields.
  • Some managerial experience required.
  • Considerable working knowledge of SBA lending, credit analysis, and underwriting.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and federal regulations regarding loans.
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of financial statement analysis and credit evaluation methods.
  • Strong customer relation, problem resolution, and communication skills.
  • Strong management skills.
