Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services (GCVS) is a specialty and referral hospital offering 24/7 emergency, urgent care, and specialty services. Our hospital provides comprehensive care across a wide range of disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, and rehabilitation. Our Internal Medicine department is led by a board-certified veterinary internist (DACVIM), and our Surgery department features a board-certified small animal surgeon (DACVS) to deliver truly collaborative and specialized care.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Board certification or residency training in Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD).
  • Active veterinary license in [Insert State] or ability to obtain one.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or interest in teaching and mentoring support staff or interns.
  • Familiarity with advanced dermatologic diagnostics and treatment protocols.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with other specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions in small animals, including allergic, autoimmune, infectious, and parasitic diseases.
  • Perform dermatologic procedures such as skin scrapings, cytologies, biopsies, and allergy testing (intradermal or serum-based).
  • Conduct video otoscopy and deep ear flushes as needed.
  • Provide dermatologic consultations for in-house referrals and external clients.
  • Collaborate with referring veterinarians and in-house specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medication use, and long-term management strategies.
