Certificate of Clinical Competence Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) Position Overview: A licensed professional specializing in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of speech, language, voice, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with individuals across the lifespan, from infants to older adults, to enhance their communication abilities and quality of life. Have a passion and cultural sensitivity to make a difference in the lives of individuals with communication disorders. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Use evidence-based assessment tools, standardized tests, informal assessments, and observations, and techniques to identify client needs and to develop accurate diagnoses. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals. Provide therapy to improve articulation, fluency, voice, receptive/expressive language, phonology, language delays, stuttering, voice impairments, dysphagia, and pragmatic communication skills. Educate clients, families, and caregivers about communication strategies and progress. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, medical professionals, families,and caregivers, to ensure comprehensive care. Advocate for client needs in educational, medical, and community settings. Maintain accurate records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Provide guidance and training to clients, families, and support staff on strategies to enhance communication skills outside of therapy sessions. Engage in prevention and early intervention programs to address potential speech and language issues. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations, as well as professional ethics. Uphold RightStart Therapy Services, Inc polices, procedures, standards of conduct.
