About The Position

The purpose of this position is to set up and operate a slitting machine to produce material, such as plastic or paper to finished rolls of specified footage, conformation, and unwind configuration. Additionally, this position requires strict adherence to all health and safety regulations as well as utilizing “common sense” precautions and actions.

Requirements

Proficient in communication skills and computer skills.
Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
Courteous manners with co-workers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Conveys rolls to the slitter with the use of a forklift.
Positions rolls on machine carriage, using pallet jacks.
Pulls outer layer of material from roll to remove any contamination and splice film together.
Set machine to processing specifications.
Depresses buttons to start machine.
Inspects and measures first panels discharged from machine to verify correct alignment of material on panel, using tape measure, check copy to proof and verify the information to the spec sheet.
Perform all quality checks and fill out all of the required paperwork with the proper signatures.
Start the machine and do visual inspection of rolls to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
Wrapping individual rolls in a protective film and assembling rolls into specified shipping units.
Executing inventory control/paperwork functions.
Maintaining work area and equipment in neat and orderly manner.
Performs routine maintenance duties on equipment as needed.
