About The Position

Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Slitter Operator. The Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of slitting equipment while ensuring quality production standards are met or exceeded. This position requires technical expertise in machine operation, quality control, and safety procedures. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor. This is a 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) Monday - Friday . Candidates must be willing to transition to either 2nd or 3rd. Starting pay is $21.77/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for hours worked between 7pm and 7am. Candidates may need to train on day shift for 4-6 months before transitioning to permanent shift, but this is not guaranteed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor slitting equipment to meet production goals while maintaining safety standards and quality specifications
  • Execute efficient job changeovers and ensure safe handling of slit rolls/materials according to procedures
  • Perform regular quality control inspections and maintain proper material segregation/labeling
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance and product consistency
  • Input and track accurate production data in PRISM system, including waste, WIP, time codes, and raw materials
  • Identify and report quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities and basic troubleshooting of equipment
  • Meet or exceed plant EFM (Equipment and Factory Management) goals
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, following proper housekeeping procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding mechanical issues, defective materials, and shift information
  • Other duties as assigned
