About The Position

The operator assumes leadership of the slitter crew, supervising processing, conducting in-process inspections, and ensuring seamless alignment of operational requirements with directives from plant management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operates steel slitting line efficiently and follows operational protocols. Adheres to production schedules by executing machine orders accurately. Directs and supervises associated support personnel to ensure smooth workflow. Provides steel samples as required for quality control purposes. Assumes responsibility for executing all assigned administrative tasks. Trains and mentors slitter helpers/slitter setup personnel to transition into operator roles effectively. Upholds strict adherence to safety regulations outlined in the Plant Employees Manual, ensuring the protection of personnel and facilities. Demonstrates punctuality and adherence to attendance policies outlined in the Attendance Policy section of the Plant Employee Manual. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school education or GED required.
• Team member must have the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Must be able to also meet the physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet on a concrete floor for the entire shift.
• Team member must also be able to effectively communicate with others and work well in a team environment.
