Requirements

  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be detail conscious, quality control and safe production oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the slitting machine operation in preparing material for shipment.
  • Read and understand a job ticket for pertinent information.
  • Follow food safety guidelines.
  • Cut cores to correct length per specification.
  • Prepare winder shafts with cores as necessary.
  • Splice rolls together.
  • Position roll of material to be slit at the unwind (rear of machine).
  • Carry finished rolls to bench, remove shaft, rebuild shaft and place on slitter.
  • Move rolls with defects to slitting area.
  • Stack rolls properly and neatly.
  • Wrap rolls, weigh if necessary and place roll on pallet with corrugated cardboard for cushion.
  • Visually inspect food contact paths during preventative maintenance to ensure no visible contamination is evident.
  • Contact supervisor if contamination is suspected.
  • Assist slitter operator in the performance of other routine duties.
